CLINICAL FEATURES ASSOCIATED WITH MAJOR
CRITERIA
B. Typical Morphology and Distribution
Adults
The disease affects flexural areas primarily. The skin surface in these
locations becomes chronically inflamed (reddened) and lichenified
(thickened) after years of being rubbed. The thickening is easily
recognized by the prominence of the skin lines as well as the "leathery"
feel of the skin surface.
