ATOPIC DERMATITIS

DESCRIPTION OF MINOR CRITERIA

5. Tendancy to skin infections
Another manifestation is the increased incidence of viral skin infection, for example with herpes simplex virus. When this occurs, the term "Kaposi's varicelliforme eruption" is used. The herpetic lesions are more widespread than in the usual case of cold sores--there may be hundreds to thousands of individual lesions.
